Assessing site speed—a vital part of SEO

Published on March 31, 2011 by David Castillo   ·   No Comments

Google will be introducing a new web-based tool that can help online marketers assess their sites’ speed performance and give suggestions on areas of improvement for faster page speed. According to experts, this will be an essential tool for search engine optimization campaigns.

The Page Speed Online Tool analyzes a site’s content and makes suggestions for improvement, resulting in faster loading time, lesser bounce rates, and increased conversion.

Actually, the tool doesn’t really measure site speed. Moreover, it analyzes how much room a site has to improve its speed.

Mobile speed performance can be tested at the site, as well.

Site speed is a factor in search engine optimization. Although it’s just a small part of the ranking criterion, it goes a long way in terms of user experience. When site interaction is fast, satisfying the browser becomes much easier.
