Black hat SEO hijacks Haiti keywords

Published on January 14, 2010 by Last Click News   ·   No Comments

Predictably, black hat search engine optimization (SEO) specialists have begun exploiting keywords and phrases that are related to the Haiti devastation. They have hacked search engines, resulting in the spread of Rogue anti-Virus software.

The newest attack targets keywords related to Haiti, where many lives have been destroyed and lost. Most of these black hat campaigns target keywords like Haiti, Port-au-Prince, and others. The criminals are redirecting users to false news and images.

Web experts say that this is causing variants of Rogue anti-Virus to spread across the internet via black hat SEO techniques.

Apart from that, some black hat sites even deceive users through a donation portal.

If you’re using these search terms, make sure to be careful. Click on legitimate news sites and try to avoid suspicious URLs.
