City of Topeka becomes ‘Google’ city for March

Published on March 3, 2010 by Last Click News   ·   No Comments

The city of Topeka (Kansas) has decided to rename itself ‘Google’ for the month of March.

The name change comes is one of the city’s efforts to persuade the search engine company to test its ultra-fast fiber optic network in the city.

The move was officially proclaimed by the mayor, along with seven city council members, last Monday. Initially, the officials met to discuss unrelated topics to the Google experiment.

The Google experiment will give the city increased connection speeds for the residents.

Whichever city becomes the home of the Google project will become a tech hub overnight.
