Click fraud declines in 2009 4Q
Published on January 28, 2010 by Last Click News · No Comments
According to Click Forensics, pay-per-click (PPC) fraud fell during the last quarter of 2009 from 17.3 percent to 15.3 percent.
The current numbers are the lowest in the past four years. The research company attributes this to the diligence of ad networks, publishers, and search engines in regulating click fraud spikes.
Click fraud is a form of Web theft, where perpetrators register misspellings to attract users. Whenever the ad is clicked on, the perpetrators get a commission.
