There are many misplaced beliefs and techniques in running search engine optimization (SEO) campaigns.
According to Search Engine Watch’s Eric Enge, applying these beliefs and techniques can harm an SEO campaign.
One of these misplaced beliefs is the existence of a universal model for search engine optimization (SEO). This happens when one online site copies the campaign of a successful online SEO campaign. This indicates a lack of originality, which can result in bringing down the rankings from the copier and the copied.
Enge admitted that “nearly every web publisher knows of competitive web sites that buy links, implement link spam schemes, use doorway pages, or use other spammy techniques without getting penalized.”
Responsible SEO campaigns will not participate in any industry malpractice. You have to understand that search engines constantly update tech, and these malpractices are sooner or later blacklisted—leading to lower rankings for the site.
