Country-targeted SEO campaigns

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the best way to increase a website’s exposure. It allows you to reach a wide, global market for a cost-efficient price. And, contrary to popular belief, SEO can be targeted to specific countries with the help of simple techniques.

Search engines measure rankings in terms of relevance. Whenever you key-in a query, the search engine tries to make the results as accurate and useful for you. Google, Yahoo, and Bing have their own algorithms and techniques for generating relevant search results.

What most don’t know is, these search engines also recognize global position—allowing them to generate area-based results. That’s why SEO-targeted campaigns need to make sure that they apply all the necessary techniques to secure solid area-based search engine rankings.

One important factor in establishing in area-based campaign is domain extension (for instance, .co.uk, .fr, and .es). These extensions are assigned to specific country. Putting the extension for the targeted country would improve the site’s presence in that country.

And another key factor is language. It’s important to use the primary language of the target country. For instance, if the target country is Italy, then it would be ideal to used Italian.

Following these simple techniques will improve the country-targeted efforts of an SEO campaign.
