Different SEO techniques for different media types

Published on February 9, 2010 by Last Click News   ·   No Comments

For each media type, there is a different search engine optimization (SEO) technique, according to Ron Jones of Search Engine Watch.

Jones says that universal and blended searches require rich caption text and alt text for photographs. Using both will improve a browser’s interaction with the site. He also mentioned that keeping related content in a single page is a key factor for SEO success.

On the other hand, Jones says for video content the SEO approach is different. Video content can improve the SEO levels of a website—that’s if all the videos are properly tagged and posted on renowned sites like YouTube and Hulu. Jones highlighted that two to three minute how-to videos are perfect to build better search rankings on selected keywords.

SEO experts can also use news and localized content. The wide array of news channels from major search engines give SEO experts the opportunity to target a broad surface in the World Wide Web.
