Facebook: Google’s newest rival for search?

Believe it or not, Facebook is quickly becoming Google’s biggest rival in terms of search.

In terms of search operations, the social media site is recording rapid growth. Many attribute this to its ever-growing membership, which at last check was at 500 million.

Many search engine optimization (SEO) campaigns are using Facebook as a springboard to their home sites. Many brands have their very own Facebook page, which, aside from redirecting browsers, also updates them about the latest news concerning the brand.

Many experts are forecasting continued growth for social networking sites, and this includes their search capabilities.
