<p>Based on their findings, brand pages generated the most activity. In particular, sites that shared brand content through their social profiles were the ones that recorded the most engagement.</p>
<p>Facebook says that brand-related topics are among the top posts that merit shares, Likes, and comment threads.</p>
<p>The social media site outlined some popular brand-related topics, including service messages, conversational posts, and brand-related messages. The site also recommended other content options for brands, like photos and compelling posts.</p>
<p>When there’s activity on the site, it becomes a good complement to search engine optimization campaigns.</p>

<p>In a study, Experian found that nearly 30% of marketers have a difficult time in developing accurate audience profiles, making it a major stumbling block in their respective content campaigns.</p>
<p>Experian also cited two factors that companies need to monitor in developing online content marketing campaigns: (1) it needs to be compatible across different web access points, including tablets and mobile phones tablets; and (2) it needs to be flanked by a social media campaign for promotional purposes.</p>
<p>The study also found that Pinterest’s growth is something that should be observed. It is now the third most popular social network behind Facebook and Twitter.</p>

More than 80% of the respondents in the study claimed that friends’ suggestions—whether delivered personally or through a social network—directly influence their purchase decisions.</p>
<p>The research included over 12,000 consumers sampled from the United States and the United Kingdom. The findings confirm that social media is a pervasive influence in both countries. However, it is a much stronger influence in the US compared to the UK.</p>
<p>Additionally, nearly 80% of respondents said that companies that offer discounts and other promos appeal to their interest. Social media subscribers also expressed interest in brands that posted in-depth company information.</p>
<p>Despite the growing interest of brands in social media, some analysts say that most companies fail to convert browsers to customers by ignoring their direct messages (sent through social media).</p>
