Scribe delivers everything necessary for content search engine optimization (SEO). It analyzes blog posts before the content is published, and it cites possible SEO tweaks.

The technology shows how search engines will interpret the content that’s about to be published. It also suggests common SEO techniques that can be applied to the posts.

However, there are some limitations. For instance, Scribe strongly suggests that posts should be longer (300 words or more). Short posts are not prescribed by the plug-in.

One of the key strategies in successful pay per click (PPC) marketing is to avoid overspending.

“A good campaign is only such if it is profitable,” explained Jeff Gawronski, AuctionBytes. He outlined that this refers to what marketers are prepared to pay for each click, and not the daily ad budget.

For a start-up promotion, it can be sensible to pay around $1 per click to ensure top rankings in search listings. But, unless a business sells expensive goods and has incredible conversion rates, the amount will not be sustainable.

As explained in ClickThroughNews: “Nevertheless, as long as an ad is getting clicks, its placement will be largely unaffected if the firm reduces the amount it is prepared to spend per click because Google would rather have relevant ads that attract higher traffic at a lower cost than overpaying ads consumers are not interested in.”

However, search engine optimization (SEO) experts are still undecided if they want to integrate Bing into their online marketing campaigns.

The deal between Microsoft and Motorola gives Bing some exposure in the Chinese market. The mobile phone manufacturer will use Bing in Android smartphones in China.

Coincidentally, Google is having trouble in China. The search engine giant recently encountered cyber attacks that are traced from China. It has announced that it is considering abandoning its search engine efforts in China.

Meanwhile, Bing will become integrated with Motorola phones in China beginning this quarter.

Google’s new visual search tool—Goggles—means that online marketing professionals need to pay more attention to mobile image optimization.

Experts say that image-based search engine optimization (SEO) campaigns can attract more traffic from browsers who use the Google application.

Released last December, Google Goggles allows users to take pictures of an object and search for relevant data about the featured item.

The most important element in optimizing an image is Meta data. Also, making the picture stand out is very important.

“Image optimisation would help with mobile visual search because it gives search engines more information about the image so they can return it when a person queries the topic,” explained Laurie Sullivan, MediaPost.

European Interactive Advertising Association indicated that 71 million people in Europe access the mobile web for at least once a week. Each one averages at least an hour a day browsing the World Wide Web using their mobile phone.

In the last week, more than 280 search terms have been attacked by more than 6,600 black hat search engine optimization (SEO) operations, according to a study by SonicWall.

The research says up to nine top search terms can be attacked at any one time.

Usually, black hat SEO experts use popular news to promote their websites, which actually force rogue antivirus applications onto your computer.

“A search on [film producer] ‘Elinor Burkett’ within a 24-hour period between March 8 and 9 presented 40 unique malicious URLs appearing in Google search’s top 30 results,” cited SonicWall as an example. “These criminals are now going after these top search terms using their knowledge to insert malware-infected Websites almost immediately after people show interest in a particular news site.”

SonicWall urges users to check the URL before clicking it. The internet company says that legitimate sites often show complete and readable sentences in their description, while malicious sites show jumbled keywords.

[PRNewswire] — Imagine a company that is not only dominating their field, but is also continually creating a system to absorb and capitalize on the strengths of its competitors. According to Wired Magazine’s Steven Levy, Google is doing just that. It is no surprise Google holds a near monopoly in search with a greater than 65% market share, but has also been holding their own despite the giant leaps taken recently by competitors Microsoft and Yahoo! (see Titan SEO’s Search Alliance article).

In fact, Google’s recent Caffeine update (see Titan SEO’s Google Caffeine article) and launch of social networking platform, Buzz (see Titan SEO’s Buzz article) are only two of the more than 200 updates and improvements Google can take credit for during the past six months. Although that might seem like a huge number, Google also claims to be planning for approximately 550 updates to their algorithm during the coming year, which prompts us to wonder what is coming down the pipeline and how we can make sure our clients are ready.

For one thing, we can take a card from our leading search engine and go on the offensive. Every year Google hold a CSI (Crazy Search Ideas) Fair to seek new and innovative ideas to solve many of the problems their algorithm cannot handle. Furthermore, the search engine ensures they know what their algorithm’s weaknesses are thanks to the hundreds of people specifically employed by Google to conduct thousands of test searches. Finally, once Google understands their weaknesses and has a few good ideas about overcoming them, they perform continual testing in mass amounts. In fact, virtually every Google search we do is part of at least one test or another.

Once Google has determined the updates needed via vast amounts of testing, they proceed, often with little more fanfare than a blog post. When asked about keeping up with these updates and preventing hard earned search engine rankings from dropping off, Danny Shepherd, President of Titan SEO, said, “All three major search engines are constantly updating and tweaking their algorithms, filters, and databases. A good SEO company will anticipate these updates and make the subtle changes needed on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. A few times a year, however, each search engine comes along with a major update that requires a substantial amount of preparation and readiness on the part of advertisers and SEO companies to maintain hard-earned rankings. We can use these updates as a good time to capitalize on the loss of rankings that unprepared competitors suffer from. Companies that are on top of these updates are always going to fare better in both the short and long term by gaining new rankings and holding onto the rankings that they had prior to the updates.”

These updates, which often coincide with the advancements of competing search engines, not only allow us to take a good look at our competition, but also ensure we are as prepared for the search landscape going forward as they may be, or possibly more. Consequently, our competitors are doing the same thing, just as Bing is taking advantage of the rare instances where Google’s algorithm falls behind, such as providing real-time updates to airfare schedules, ticket prices, shopping items, or reference materials. While Bing and Yahoo! may still fall on the lean side of the market share pie chart, such awareness, strategy, and innovation will allow them to find a niche and succeed regardless, which is a great lesson for the underdog in every industry.

The mobile search engine optimization (SEO) market is up for grabs. And T-Mobile, a main player in mobile SEO, is making a big move. The wireless provider said that it will replace Yahoo with Google as its default online portal.

However, T-Mobile says that some of its Yahoo-based services will continue to function, including Yahoo Mail and Yahoo Messenger. Google will power T-Mobile central portal, which is provided among non-smartphone users as well.
