Google gets a head start in the mobile web with Pay Per Call

Published on January 5, 2010 by Last Click News   ·   No Comments

Google is setting the standard for mobile advertising with the upcoming release of its Pay Per Call program.

As you know, smartphones allow users to contact phone numbers within the browser. Under Google new system, whenever a user calls a phone number of a mobile ad, Google charges the advertiser.

Pay Per Call will capitalize on the fact that users often respond to mobile ads by calling. The concept is quite similar to Pay Per Click, an online scheme that Google has used.

By putting the service on the mobile Web, Google gives users faster and more convenient access to advertisers.
