Google introduces the spotlight button for news SERPs

Published on November 24, 2011 by David Castillo   ·   No Comments

On the official Google News Blog, the top search engine introduced the Spotlight button in its News SERPs, which will allow Google+ followers to track stories of interest.

Initial analysis says that the new button has no effect in search engine optimization. On the other hand, it will provide a more integrated experience for Google+ users. More importantly, socially shared content will drive more traffic to Google’s social network, making it a more relevant online marketing platform.

The +1 button will give the search engine a push in the field of shared content.

The new addition will certainly boost the popularity of Google+.
