It is now clear that Google is investing in social.

With the unveiling of Google+, the search engine giant is showing that it is ready and willing to compete with Facebook, which is becoming increasingly important in the search engine optimization scene.

Apart from the competition, the trend also indicates that social media marketing is crucial to SEO success. Currently, Google is the go-to when it comes to web information and web advertising. With the addition of Google+, the search engine can take over the whole World Wide Web.

The addition of a social media site, will give Google tons of user-generated content. And this is something that buyers and marketers want to see. If it all comes together, Google can crush the competition with its comprehensive SEO benefits.
