Google Maps, meet Bing Maps

Published on December 4, 2009 by Last Click News   ·   No Comments

Google Maps will no longer be the dominant online service for directions and geographic search. Microsoft’s Bing Maps will challenge Google for the market, and its arrival changes the search engine optimization (SEO) playing field.

While Google has a street view feature, Bing has the “Street Side” feature. And experts say that Bing’s feature has better photos, which can be viewed to see tremendous amounts of details.

SEO professionals will see a more even playing field in terms of maps. Bing can even beat Google, if it plays its cards right. The Microsoft-owned search engine needs to leverage more users by marketing its technology advantage.

The 3D features of Bing Maps are supported by Microsoft’s Silverlight content architecture, which unlocks limitless possibilities for third-party associates.
