Google tackles AdWords myths

Published on July 22, 2010 by Last Click News   ·   4 Comments

Google has published blog posts that aim to falsify stories about AdWords.

Many stories about the search engine’s pay per click (PPC) marketing service are surfacing in the internet. The company is now making a concerted effort to get the facts straight about AdWords.

Miles Johnson of the Inside AdWords team says that the first misconception is that spending money through the platform will boost a site’s natural ranking in Google. “Google AdWords and Google’s free search results are entirely independent of one another,” Johnson explained.

That’s why increasing investments on AdWords campaigns will not affect a site’s organic listing.

Johnson says that the best way to increase a site’s ranking is through search engine optimization (SEO) campaigns, especially for content.
