Google upgrades its social media approach

Published on February 11, 2010 by Last Click News   ·   No Comments

Google will soon introduce new approaches to its social media strategy. Speculators say that these changes will include changes in Gmail, which will allow users to post messages on Twitter and Facebook.

Twitter and Facebook have displayed tremendous potential for advertising.

To date, Google’s biggest jump to social media is YouTube. The search engine acquired the video-streaming site in 2006 and it has steadily increased its revenue year-by-year.

There are many products that focus on Google social aspect approach—Reader, Calendar, Bookmarks, and other content sharing platforms.

However, Google’s campaign does have its own share of problems. Critics say that its products have been too desperate. There hasn’t been a single combining element that allows users to see all the products in a single page.

On the other hand, Microsoft and Yahoo! have strengthened its efforts to improve social features.
