Local SEO: the latest internet marketing trend

Published on November 5, 2010 by David Castillo   ·   No Comments

Months ago, no body bothered about local search engine optimization (SEO). It was tedious work for a small market. But things are quickly changing and local SEO is being given the spotlight in the internet marketing scene.

Experts say that local SEO will be a corner of internet marketing campaigns in the future.

And, if you look around, you’d agree.

More and more people are using their smart phones to find local shops and take advantage of nearby store promos. Add that to the release of new and improved Google Places and Facebook Places, and you get an obvious conclusion: local SEO is growing.

This is something online retailers must consider when they come up with a SEO campaign. But—of course—local SEO strategies should not compromise the bigger SEO strategy. It’s simply an addition that can pay big dividends.
