Newspapers now think about SEO

Newspapers are beginning to adopt search engine optimization (SEO) techniques.

For the longest time, most news providers have refused to adhere to SEO techniques, because they say that these approaches can affect creative integrity.

However, today’s three top news publishers in the United States are offering SEO services to small businesses. Gannett Newspapers has even begun to sell digital marketing services to businesses in Phoenix, Arizona.

“GannettLocal is a new business model focused on working with small and midsize business to provide them a high-touch marketing consultation and a suite of multiplatform solutions (search engine marketing, email, digital display, website, and geo-targeted print/flyers) delivered by a team of dedicated experts over the phone,” explained Brad Robertson, chief of GannettLocal, in a recent memo.
