SEO—start small, finish big

Online retailers who are just beginning to integrate search engine optimization (SEO) techniques should first ensure that they already have a good reputation to begin with.

“…if you want to get a reputation, start small [and] expand in your niche,” explained Matt Cutts—from Google—to the Irish Times.
For instance, it is better for a company to specialize in a particular product in a specific location, rather than claiming worldwide authority on a wider range of products.

Cutts also said that good content plays a crucial role when it comes to topping search engine. “The more content you have, the more ways we can find you,” said Cutts.

Because website speed in now becoming a SEO factor, web designers need to update their designs to improve user experience.

Once you conquer the small, targeted market that you began with, you can now expand with through a more comprehensive SEO campaign.
