SEO audit–the basics

Published on September 21, 2011 by David Castillo   ·   No Comments

Have you performed a search engine optimization audit before?

Well, don’t worry. You only need to use three key items, which will—hopefully—highlight problem areas that require improvement.

First, make sure that your site undergoes a Site Check. This allows you to see how many of your pages are indexed.

Second, use Google Webmaster Tools. This program gives you useful data that will help you identify: your page’s blocked content, sitemap problems, and your popular search queries.

Lastly, compare your backlinks with your competitors. This will identify if you have link building problems, allowing you to make the necessary adjustments.

Of course, it isn’t that simple. But these outliners give you the general idea of how to audit your site.
