SEO can be used for job postings

Published on August 10, 2009 by Last Click News   ·   No Comments

With rising unemployment rates, more and more Americans are looking for jobs on the internet. This is a trend that companies can take advantage of by investing in search engine optimization (SEO) to increase online visibility of job postings.
The unemployment rate is currently at 9.5 percent and statistics say that there is an increase in job websites increased by 10 percent.
“Job and career-related resources continue to be one of the fastest-growing categories online, which is not surprising given the current state of the economy and the number of people seeking job opportunities and career advice,” said Jeff Hackett, senior vice president of comScore. “Certainly with millions of Americans reevaluating their careers right now there is opportunity for continued growth and innovation in this segment of the online marketplace.”
However, it should be noted that browsers are not going directly to the job sites. More often than not, they go to popular search engines to find job sites.
This trend can be beneficial for companies and job seekers. The use of SEO will increase the visibility of job postings, leading to faster hiring.
