SEO “Changing” in the Mobile Age

Published on February 24, 2011 by David Castillo   ·   No Comments

[Marketwire press release] — Digital Marketing Agency, Tecmark, believes that search engine optimisation is changing rapidly as mobile internet usage increases. Managing Director at Tecmark, Richard Heyes, believes that SEO is still a core part of a marketing campaign, but acknowledges the changes;

“SEO is still essential in order to ensure your company visibility to the people seeking out your products and services. But the way people search is, of course, changing. Our own research shows us that 8% of any visitors to a UK website are browsing from a mobile. That number is growing rapidly. Google is beginning to incorporate mobile apps in its organic search results on Android and iPhone devices and as people are searching on the move, local and geographical searches are becoming more important.”

Richard believes this fast changing marketplace opens up a host of opportunities for businesses, adding;

“There are millions of Smartphone users in the UK and you can now essentially get your brand onto their handset through mobile apps or websites. Any complete marketing plan really should now incorporate a mobile strategy to target this rapidly growing market.”
