SEO has a place in medicine

Published on July 22, 2009 by Last Click News   ·   No Comments

Nowadays, you can do almost everything through the Web. While it is an unlimited source of leisure and information, it can also be a place to see services. Important services like doctors and physicians can certainly benefit from internet marketing and search engine optimization (SEO) techniques.

In a recent article for Modern Medicine, Keith Borglum—a healthcare business consultant—described the Web as the new Yellow Pages for healthcare providers. The implication is, if doctors want their business to thrive, they should consider integrating SEO strategies in their Websites. This will guarantee that they will rank high in search engines, which generates traffic and exposure for their practice.

doctor_onlineBorglum even suggested that doctors upload videos to introduce themselves to potential patients online. He also said that doctors should look to get links to their site from established directories, like the websites of local chambers and medical societies.

SEO is emerging as a necessity to businesses, especially for small ones. Traffic brings exposure and exposure brings in more business. This simple online formula has not only proven to be cost-efficient, it’s also been proven to bring results (in most cases).
