Small business SEO has an edge in second-tier cities

Published on November 20, 2009 by Last Click News   ·   No Comments

Did you know that small businesses have search engine optimization (SEO) advantages when they are located in second-tier cities?

In a recent guest opinion piece in Search Engine Land, Hanan Lifshitz used the small city of Columbus, Ohio to illustrate these SEO advantages.

He explained that, more often than not, big cities are swamped with digital marketing campaigns online. On the other hand, marketers would more or likely step back on strategic SEO campaigns in a city like Columbus.

This can give pioneering small businesses an edge in the World Wide Web. Deploying a local SEO campaign will boost the search profile of any business. With few localized online businesses, SEO can boost a company’s online presence on local search.
