Social Media and mobile SEO—wave of the future

Published on December 16, 2010 by David Castillo   ·   No Comments

Search engine optimization (SEO) continues to evolve; and people can expect more changes in 2011.

One of the new elements to SEO is social media, a venue where marketers can reach its consumers in a more casual manner. Some online retailers have already launched extensive marketing campaigns through Facebook and Twitter.

While social media is not a confirmed influencer of rankings, it has major online marketing value. Integrating the social pages with authoritative blog links can quickly increase traffic. It’s also helpful for consumers to Tweet about the product, ensuring that it has a social media presence.

You can expect this element to continue its development in SEO.

Another element that’s expected to grow is mobile SEO. More and more people are using their mobile phone to connect to the internet. Expect marketers to find a way to take better advantage of this in 2011.
