Yahoo to phase out Search Submit

Published on October 26, 2009 by Last Click News   ·   No Comments

By January 2010, Yahoo’s Search Submit program will be phased out.

According to Yahoo CFO Tim Morse, the move will be done to help improve the company’s health in the market place.

The program has long been criticized by search engine optimization (SEO) specialists as an unethical way of presenting advertisements and services.

Some companies, like Google, have avoided working with similar programs. Google says that this type of feature hurts the site’s usability. Both Google and Ask discarded similar programs to Yahoo Search Submit in 2004.
